Autumn Eternal apporte enfin la conclusion à la trilogie initiée avec Kentucky et elle ne pouvait en rêver d'une plus belle. La portion d'americana se réduit encore un peu plus, présente en majeure partie dans "Tamarack's Gold Return" et "The Wind's Farewell", car Panopticon se concentre sur le black metal atmosphérique. Capturant l'essence de l'automne, il est ardent, mélancolique, héroïque (cette batterie !), contemplatif. L'automne n'est pas une zone grise : c'est une tempête de couleurs !
